I created this custom Barbie gift for a commission for my sister’s best friend’s wedding early 2025. The couple to be is vibrant, theatrical, and anything but traditional.
The project took about 6 weeks to complete, and ended up including:
One custom Bride doll with tattoos and handmade wedding gown
One custom hybrid groom doll in black tuxedo, custom matching peacock bowtie (continued below next picture)

Started by gathering reference photos of the couple and the Bride’s custom peacock wedding gown. Moved into researching and finding fitting Barbie and Ken head molds to best capture the subject.
I generally try to thrift doll parts if at all possible, but matching to distinct features sometimes leads to less-than-thrifty options for that perfect match.
The essence of the bride’s gorgeous hand design gown is captured with ribbons and teal cotton, framed with gold trim. Tattoos are applied with waterslide decals.
I recorded a series of short snippets with my trusty rotating stand and sat on an instagram reel for several weeks before the doll could be revealed to the “public”
A video explaining how to set up the acrylic case (it traveled from MA to GA by car) and a Custom box with blue satin wrapping around dolls and box panels
I am so honored to have my work featured in Rock n Roll Bride, as this commission was incredibly fun for such a vibrant and gorgeous couple. These custom Barbie wedding dolls were commissioned for my sister’s bestie’s wedding this summer.
